Our philosophy
Beauty marketing is loud. We aim to be clear instead. We explain what a product type is for, what its key ingredients are known to do, and where the evidence runs out. Short routines that you'll actually keep beat elaborate ones you'll abandon.
Editorial standards
- No fake reviews or testimonials. We don't publish invented customer quotes, star ratings or review counts.
- No invented testing. We only say we have tried or tested a product when that is true, and we say how. Most of our product notes are based on publicly available information: official ingredient lists, brand documentation and published research.
- No live prices. We don't show prices or stock levels. They change constantly; the retailer’s page is the only reliable source.
- Evidence-conscious language. We avoid words like "cures", "miracle" or "clinically proven" unless we can link to the evidence.
- Not medical advice. Our guides are general information. Skin conditions belong with a dermatologist.
- Corrections. Each product shows a “last reviewed” date. When information changes, we update it.
How products are selected
A product makes our shortlist when we can clearly explain who it suits and why: its formula, its format, and its fit within a simple routine. We also note limitations — for example fragrance, texture or price tier. Brands cannot pay to be included.
